BEXLEY, Ohio (WCMH) – Katalina’s Tres, the third location for the popular central Ohio brunch spot, is set to open in Bexley this fall. 

Construction is underway at 2741 E. Main St., according to a post shared to Katalina’s social media last week. The building formerly housed Boston Market. 

“Bexley or BUST!,” the social media post read. “Progress report: Tackling Katalina’s Tres is on target for Fall!”

The “Development Download” summary of construction projects in the Summer 2024 edition of a City of Bexley newsletter corroborated the fall opening date, although city representatives said an official opening date is not set. 

“We’re so excited to have Katalina’s in Bexley, but we don’t have any solid information on an open date,” Natalie Vawter, assistant to the mayor of Bexley, said. “Early estimates targeted an opening sometime late summer or early fall, but we haven’t heard a firm date yet.” 

The opening was announced this past January via social media. The Bexley location replaced the original plan for a third Katalina’s, which was initially set to open in the summer of 2023 in Franklinton. 

According to land permit records, Katalina’s permit to build at 480 W. Town St., the initial location for Katalina’s Tres, was quietly withdrawn in February 2023. Katalina’s has not made a statement as to why the plans were canceled.

Katalina’s is known for its Latin and Southern-inspired breakfast options, particularly its trademarked Pancake Balls. 

The Main Street location follows the original Katalina’s, which opened in a former gas station at 3481 N. High St. in 2010, and Katalina’s Too, a second location that opened in Clintonville at 3481 N. High St. in 2019. Both current locations are open daily from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.
