The 28-year-old woman, who describes herself as an ‘adventurer’ from Scotland, shared that she used old pallets to make her bed frame.

Not only this, but the travel fan even made her very own drawers, mirror and curtains too.

Posting on social media, the DIY fan gave a close-up look into her unique home life, leaving many open-mouthed.

The blonde beauty confirmed: “I turned my garden shed into my bedroom.”

Coralie gave her followers a quick tour around the shed, which is complete with a bed, chest of drawers, mirrors and small wardrobe.

She then explained: “I painted, repaired pallets to make the bed frame, insulated the ceiling, added wood, made backboard, drawers, mirror and curtains.”

The tiny space looks out onto Coralie’s garden, and she is clearly thrilled with her quiet and simple lifestyle, as she also added: “It’s so peaceful.”

The adventure lover also shared that transforming the old shed required “little effort”, but was “so worth it.”

The TikTok clip, which was posted under the username @coraliedee, has clearly left many open-mouthed, as it has quickly amassed 68,400 views.

Social media users were stunned at the savvy woman’s shed home and many took to the comments to express this.

One person said: “This looks so good.”

To this, Coralie praised her “very minimal” lifestyle and replied: “Why thank you! Feels so human not having loads of things.”

The rise of tiny homes

By Jonathan Rolande

Property expert Jonathan Rolande told Fabulous: The reason we are seeing more creative ways of finding a home: super-high property prices and rents. Younger people are remaining in the family home later in life to avoid paying high prices and to save for a deposit. With increasingly busy lives, staying within a larger family group makes sense, chores such as gardening and housework can be shared.

Garages are rarely used for their intended purpose as cars are far more reliable and less prone to rust and so are perfectly happy outside. On the other hand, the amount of property space per person has been shrinking – converting a garage can make great sense.

Things to consider. (the boring stuff)

Usually easier than building from scratch but still a lot to do to turn a garage in to a habitable space.

You’ll need to check if you need planning (more likely to be required if the garage is detached).

Building Regulations stipulate many things to make homes safe and secure. Consider

Walls, are they cavity?

Roof height

Windows

How will you get plumbing, electrics and drainage connected

Insulation – it will be cold!

Fire safety

Damp proofing

Also consider if, by converting, you are adding or deducting value from the main home. Garages can add value in busy urban areas where parking is limited.

Another added: “Great job.”

In response, Coralie wrote: “Thank you! It was ace, fun and so calming.”

Meanwhile, a third asked: “Did you insulate the walls?”

Coralie then confirmed:“No, just the ceiling.”
