The print edition of Gazzetta dello Sport (10/7/24) have revealed that AC Milan are still some way from reaching an agreement with Tottenham Hotspur over the transfer of Emerson Royal.

The Emerson Royal and AC Milan saga rumbles on

A number of Italian outlets appeared relatively confident until a few days ago that it was only a matter of time before Emerson Royal completed a switch to Milan.

This includes Corriere Dello Sport (via TuttoMercatoWeb), who claimed on Monday that the Rossoneri were readying a bid of around €15m after seeing their opening offer of €12m turned down by Spurs.

The report claimed that negotiations are expected to accelerate following the second bid, with a deal potentially set to be agreed in a matter of days.

However, Gazzetta have now suggested that there is still a chance the move could fall through, with an agreement not being close at the moment.

Both clubs appear to be some distance away from agreeing a fee

It is revealed that AC Milan have offered just ‘a little more’ than €10m for the Brazilian, while Tottenham are continuing to demand double that fee.

The publication adds that ‘the next appointment’ between the two clubs is key to finding out if an agreement is feasible, with one of the two parties needing to cave in.

Spurs Web Opinion

While Tottenham might be willing to meet Milan in the middle, they would not want to give a huge discount to the Italian side as there is not going to be any shortage of interest in Emerson over the next few weeks.
