'Grip can detach': Honda motorcycles recalled for injury hazards

KANSAS (KSNT) - A number of Honda off-road motorcycles are being recalled due to the risk of handlebar grips detaching.

The motorcycles are being recalled after the company received a report of a crash that resulted in a knee injury. The motorcycles were built in China and sold nationwide from Sept. 2022 to May 2024 for $1,700 to $3,900. More than 40,000 units are involved in the recall, according to the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC).

The motorcycles were sold in red or white colors and all three models have "HONDA" printed on the seats. Owners can check to see if their VIN is included in the recall by clicking here.

Models in the recall include:

  • CRF50F
  • CRF110F
  • CRF125F

Honda is telling all owners to contact American Honda Motor to schedule a free inspection and repair. You can contact American Honda Motor at 866-784-1870 or online by clicking here.

Honda is contacting all known purchasers directly, according to the CPSC.
