WCL 2024: Australia and South Africa Dominate Pool Stage, Set Up Thrilling Semi-Finals

New Delhi: Australia and South Africa were the best in the World Championship of Legends 2024 when they recorded enormous wins against West Indies and India at Northampton’s County Ground.

In the first game, Australia Champions flexed their batting skills to post an impressive 274/7 in 20 overs. Ben Dunk was the awe of the inning with a smashing century off only 35 balls while Daniel Christian just fell short of his hundred making 99 off 35 deliveries. Rayad Emrit from West Indies took four wickets in this match but could not stop run flow.

The second match saw South Africa Champions score a total of 210/8 as Jacques Synman made a half-century, while Richard Levi registered a quick fire sixty. Harbhajan Singh was the only bright spot for India taking four wickets.

India Champions failed to perform against a disciplined South African attack as they only ended up getting to156/6. Yusuf Pathan’s unbeaten fifty-four came too late to make any impact on the innings.

These results wrapped up the pool stage ahead of Friday’s semis: Pakistan vs West Indies and Australia vs India.
