Serena Williams Fronts New Nike x Jacquemus Collection Featuring an Updated Air Max 1

The sneaker comes in white, red and silver.

Nike’s latest collection with Simon Porte Jacquemus and his eponymous fashion brand is here.

For the duo’s third collection, Jacquemus has reimagine Nike’s Air Max model. The new Nike x Jacquemus Air Max 1 infuses a Nike classic with a rounded, cubist Air unit and Jacquemus’ signature effortless style.

The nearly 40-year-old sneaker takes on monochromatic looks in white, red and silver featuring a slightly modified upper. Perforations have been added at midfoot, while the larger leather Swoosh has been replaced by a smaller metal badge. Aside from the mudguard and heel counter, the rest of the upper’s paneling has been flattened for a minimalist look. Jacquemus’ name is debossed onto the heel, and mismatched branding on the tongue tag and insole trades marks for the two parties involved.

Along with the new sneaker, the collection also features 10 distinct lifestyle pieces, such as reimagined tracksuits, T-shirts, statement bras and long skirts. The Le Swoosh bag, which fashions Nike’s trademark visual into a handbag, is back in three new colors and available for the first time across select Nike retail.

“This collection is born from the inspiration I find every day in Paris and in Nike’s athletes and the sports references I have always loved,” Jacquemus said in a statement. “I see the collection as a mix of sport, fashion and culture in the most beautiful city in the world, where Nike athletes will take center stage this summer.”

The collection builds on a longstanding partnership between Nike and Jacquemus. The brands first collaborated in 2022 with the Jacquemus’ Air Humara as well as a mix of athletic ready-to-wear pieces for a debut collection inspired by vintage ACG and ’90s Nike campaigns.

More recent collaborations, the duo released 2023’s J Force 1. Most recently, the spring 2024 collection debuted the Le Swoosh bag.

According to Nike, this summer’s collection nods to Jacquemus’ French roots and comes in red, white, blue and silver colorways. Launching with the collection is a campaign and short film, J’aime Paris, which marks Jacquemus’ directorial debut and features a cross-generational cast of global athletes; French icons; and vibrant muses across contemporary culture, including Serena Williams, Juliette Binoche, Central Cee and Lila Moss.

“When in Paris, the world simply feels different: more romantic, artistic and beautiful,” Jacquemus added. “J’aime Paris is an ode to the city I adore, drawing out all I love about this vibrant place and how those inspirations manifest in my third collection with Nike. This video is a blend of Jacquemus’ icons and unique mix of talents that represents French culture.”

The summer 2024 Nike x Jacquemus collection is now available across Jacquemus.com and Jacquemus retail, including an exclusive silver colorway of the Nike x Jacquemus Air Max 1. The collection will become available on Nike platforms July 23, when the Le Swoosh bag and Air Max 1 drop on SNKRS and the apparel collection launches across nike.com. On July 25, the full collection will be available across nike.com and at select retailers.
