Queen Camilla Bestowed a Sweet Honor on One of Her Biological Grandchildren

Queen Camilla has one of her biological grandchildren on the brain and, luckily, it hasn’t turned into a PR crisis this time. Instead, she’s bestowing a sweet honor on grandson Freddy Parker Bowles. ICYMI: The Queen has 10 grandchildren — five biological and five who are the grandkids of her second husband, King Charles III.

Queen Camilla and her ex-husband Andrew Parker Bowles are the proud grandparents of Lola (b. 2007) and Freddy Parker Bowles (b. 2010) — who their son Tom shares with wife Sarah — along with Eliza Lopes (b. 2008) and twins Louis and Gus Lopes (b. 2009) — who their daughter Laura shares with husband Harry Lopes.

At her latest royal engagement, Queen Camilla made a nice nod to her oldest grandson. While visiting Medical Detection Dogs — a U.K. charity that trains animals to catch diseases and help people impacted — the Queen was allowed to name one of the new pups.

And she chose the name “Freddy.”

“Meet Freddy, our newest team member named by a very special supporter – our Patron, The Queen,” the charity wrote on X (formerly Twitter). “Her Majesty was invited to name a puppy in celebration of her continued Patronage. Welcome to the team, Freddy!”

Naming an animal who is part of an organization of which she’s the patron is such a sweet way for the Queen to honor her 14-year-old grandson. Or, perhaps the dog should be honored to be named after the nearly-royal teen.

Medical Detection Dogs also posted the sweetest video of little Freddy getting acclimated. “Freddy’s first few days have been so exciting with a new house and garden to explore and new humans to wrap around his oversized paws,” they said.

You may remember Freddy Parker Bowles from the coronation of King Charles III. He and his cousins Louis and Gus stood alongside their grandma on the balcony of Buckingham Palace as Pages of Honor on the historic day.

The Queen has been making headlines lately when it comes to her and her relationship with her grandkids. Earlier this week, resurfaced reports claimed that the Queen told singer Lady Gaga in 2016 that her grandma nickname is “Gaga.” “My own grandchildren call me Gaga. I don’t know if it’s because they think I am! It is funny but is still very sweet,” she said, per The Sun.

She also had the “most incredible” night out with “all” her grandkids in May, but we assume that her step-grandkids Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet weren’t there.

“Gaga” has been accused of driving a wedge between King Charles and Prince Harry’s kids, Archie and Lilibet. “Camilla dislikes Harry and doesn’t want Charles to get stressed while he’s undergoing [cancer] treatment, so she tries to limit interaction,” a source told Us Weekly.

Given the supposed rift, we unfortunately can’t imagine she’ll be naming a dog “Archie” anytime soon.
