Fox News host: Trump lied when he denied knowing about Project 2025
Fox News host Will Cain suggested earlier this week that former President Donald Trump falsely claimed he was unaware of Project 2025.
During a Monday interview, Cain spoke to The Heritage Foundation's Kevin Roberts, the lead architect of Project 2025. Patriot Takes first highlighted the clip on Thursday.
The interview took place just days after Trump claimed he was unaware of the right-wing plan to reshape the country with conservative values.
Cain claimed "the left" had "hyperventilated" while opposing the project.
"It seems to have worked to some degree because, over the weekend, Donald Trump has distanced himself from Project 2025," he explained. "He said basically, I don't know who's behind it whether or not that's true."
"I doubt that that's true, by the way. And he said it is not part of my governing agenda," Cain continued. "What do you take away from Donald Trump distancing himself from your project?"
For his part, Roberts said there were "no hard feelings."
"If you're running for president and you're trying to win not just any campaign but what we think at Heritage is the most significant campaign in modern American history, then it makes sense that politically you want to pivot from that," he opined. "There are no hard feelings from us at Project 2025 or Heritage about that. We love President Trump."

Roberts described Project 2025 as "merely a menu from which he might be able to choose and as a database of personnel who are willing to go into office and work for him if he so chooses."
"Regardless of what anyone thinks on the left or the right or the center, the most unified project in the history of the conservative movement, and it's not going anywhere," he added.
A CNN analysis found that at least 140 people involved in Project 2025 have previously worked for Trump.
