Watch horror moment subway rat is mysteriously snatched into darkness…before ANOTHER terrifying beast rears its head

A GIGANTIC rat emerged on the Subway, trapped beneath a door before mysteriously vanishing into thin air.

The revolting sight alarmed commuters in New York City as the rodent appeared to be replaced with similarly terrifying creature.

In a 27-second-long clip that was shared to X, formerly known as Twitter, the pesky rodent appears the size of a small dog.

The pale rat lies spreadeagled as the social media user zooms in on the animal, which initially seems to be dead or in poor health.

Around five seconds in, it suddenly jerks and escapes, swallowed whole by the wall in an eerie disappearance.

Ten seconds later, the nose of another creature starts to peek through.

Once it becomes fully visible, it is obvious that it is a different beast, perhaps not even a rodent.

The grim, grainy footage recently resurfaced on X after the mystery rat exchange was spotted back in 2020.

Users have speculated that the sickly rat was “swept away by an even bigger rat,” while others mocked New York City‘s perceived squalor.

Others think the original rat was simply dragged into the dirty Subway gap by an even bigger rodent.

It remains unknown what happened to the original rat.

This comes after a British mum explained how she was awoken by her daughter’s screams after a huge rat popped up in their loo.

The woman was about to sit on the toilet after a 14-hour hospital shift when she heard something scuttling below.

She then recoiled in shock as she spotted the rodent peering up from the bowl.

Her horrified mother, who asked not to be named, told The Scottish Sun: “When she looked down she saw two little beady eyes. She was screaming.

“I couldn’t believe it.”

The pair, of Govanhill, Glasgow, then tried frantically to keep the lid down as the furry pest battled to escape.

She said: “We tried to shut the toilet pan. It was jumping up and trying to get out.

“I had to get a broom and was screaming my lungs out.

This comes not long after NYC mayor Eric Adams was mocked across the world for his wheelie bin “revolution,” brought in to tackle the city’s rat crisis.

The newest mayor of the Big Apple has often made headlines for his unique approach.

Adams has often focused on crime, including subway security and officers across the network.

The mayor has also famously launched a war against rodents in the city, saying he “hates rats.”

NYC mayor Eric Adams sent yanks into hysteria as he introduced the wheelie bin in a press conference.

Alicia Keys and Jay Z’s Empire State of Mind blasted in the background as he read “Welcome to our trash revolution.

“When you look at the billions of pounds of trash we remove off our streets annually, many people thought it was impossible that these babies here, the bins, were going to be part of our trash revolution,” he added.

This trash can, named the official NYC Bin, will have wheels and a lid and be rolled out on curbs across NYC.
