Kim Cattrall Might Not Be Done With 'And Just Like That' But There's a Catch

Is there more life for Samantha on Season 3 of And Just Like That? There seems to be a strong possibility that Kim Cattrall will return to the Max series, but like Season 2, there might be some serious conditions.

The feud between Sarah Jessica Parker and Cattrall apparently hasn’t been smoothed over, but the 67-year-old actress is willing to reprise her beloved character if the show can meet her demands — which they were happy to do last season when she made a brief cameo in the season finale. “The word is that she’ll get to do all her scenes in London,” a show insider told Life & Style. “They’ll be bending over backwards to pay her an absolute fortune, and it’s all on her terms because she’s so central to the franchise.”

Even though Parker and Cattrall haven’t mended fences, she, along with Cynthia Nixon and Kristin Davis, understand that Cattrall’s character is “necessary” to the story, and to the passionate fans. “However, the rivals and lack of forgiveness is still there as far as Kim’s concerned,” the source added. “She doesn’t do fake friendships, she’s not going to sit around and pretend to be best friends with Sarah, even if she does take the paycheck.”

There seems to be a slim possibility that Cattrall could wind up in scenes with the other three women, but a remote option might be the best way to handle the ongoing tensions. “It’s still open as to whether she’ll even film any scenes with the other women, but certainly she doesn’t want to break bread with them off camera and pretend like nothing ever happened,” they noted. The three-against-one tension was first noted 20 years ago at the 2004 Emmys when Cattrall sat apart from the rest of her co-stars.

The women’s rift reached a fever pitch in 2018 after Cattrall’s brother died suddenly and Parker offered her sympathy in an Instagram post. Cattrall dedicated a post to her ex-friend, writing, “I don’t need your love or support at this tragic time @sarahjessicaparker.” If that wasn’t enough, she added more cutting words in the caption.

“My Mom asked me today “When will that @sarahjessicaparker, that hypocrite, leave you alone?” Your continuous reaching out is a painful reminder of how cruel you really were then and now,” she wrote. “Let me make this VERY clear. (If I haven’t already) You are not my family. You are not my friend. So I’m writing to tell you one last time to stop exploiting our tragedy in order to restore your ‘nice girl’ persona.”

Cattrall and Parker will likely never be pals again, but Samantha might still rise from the ashes in Season 3.
