'Minions 3' in the Works, Hitting Theaters in 2027 - Release Date Revealed!

Minions 3 is coming!

A third installment of the very successful Illumination and Universal franchise is set to hit theaters on June 30, 2027, THR reports.

The news comes of little surprise, as Despicable Me 4 is making huge moves at the box office.

Written by Minions‘ Brian Lynch, Minions 3 will be directed by veteran Despicable Me and Minions filmmaker Pierre Coffin, who has also provided the voice for the Minions since 2010.

Illumination’s Despicable Me and Minions movies have brought in a whopping near $5 billion at the global box office.

Minions is one of the highest-grossing animated films of all time, as well as Despicable Me 2 and Despicable Me 3, which each made more than $1 billion at the global box office.

In 2022, Minions: The Rise of Gru shattered box office records with the highest grossing July Fourth opening weekend in stateside history. Despicable Me 4 just opened to to $230 million worldwide.
