High-tech whiskers enhance robotic navigation and safety

Flinders University researchers are drawing inspiration from the animal kingdom to develop cost-effective, flexible, and highly responsive "whiskers" for robots. While lasers and camera vision guide robot movement, these lightweight and affordable whiskers add tactile abilities to workplace and domestic robots, allowing them to navigate confined or cluttered spaces more effectively.
