The useful Prime Day purchases under $40 every household needs

We are less than a week away from the official Amazon Prime Day 2024 sales event so we are locked in on savings right now. There are tons of retailers launching summer savings events, like Walmart's "largest savings event ever" — dubbed “Walmart Deals" —which has been running since Monday, July 8, and ends today, Thursday, July 11. Target launched its annual Target Circle Week this week, and Amazon is dropping some early Prime Day deals already. So basically, you shouldn't be paying full price on anything, and we mean anything. Not big-ticket items like TVs and coffee makers, but not those household essentials either.

We spend hours a day reviewing thousands of deals and often find everyday essentials like toilet paper and dish soap to be some of the best sneaky savings during big shopping events like this. The good news is that most of those items are already on sale. We've found everything from the internet's favorite makeup-remover wipes to bulk packs of Dawn dish soap marked down right now.

Because you're always going to need more toilet paper and laundry soap — why not get it when you can save a few bucks? Below are some of the best deals on everyday essentials we've seen so far.

While the below items aren't on sale right now, we're keeping a close eye because we think they will definitely drop prices by the first day of Prime Day next week.

If you have Amazon Prime, you’ll get free shipping, of course. Not yet a member? No problem. You can sign up for your free 30-day trial here. (And by the way, those without Prime still get free shipping on orders of $25 or more.)
