Man Utd given five extra days to complete £55m Dani Olmo transfer as Red Devils battle it out with Liverpool

DANI OLMO’S admirers have been given another five days to trigger his £55million release clause — thanks to Spain’s run to the Euros final.

The RB Leipzig star, who has netted in all three of La Roja’s knockout games, is being chased by plenty of top clubs including Manchester United and Liverpool.

Initially, Olmo’s release clause was meant to expire on Monday.

But that has been extended until a week tomorrow due to Spain reaching Sunday’s final.

Manchester City showed big interest in Olmo, 26, last summer.

But they opted to sign Jeremy Doku from Rennes for £55m instead.

City are not understood to be after Olmo now.

But Liverpool and United are in the mix, as are Bayern Munich and Barcelona.

Olmo’s preferred position is behind the striker as a No10.

But he can also play in a variety of other areas, including both flanks.

Olmo spent seven years in Barcelona’s academy before making a shock move to Dinamo Zagreb.

He was just 16 years old when he moved to Croatia in 2014 and quickly became a star.

Olmo won five titles in six years and scored 34 goals in 124 games before RB Leipzig came calling.

The Germans paid £21m for Olmo in 2019 and he has since netted 29 times in 148 outings while winning three domestic cups.

But it’s his form at the Euros that has really caught the eye, with Olmo initially showing his worth off the bench.

He then started Spain’s 2-1 semi-final win over France following an injury to Pedri against Germany in the quarters.

And Olmo will now battle England captain Harry Kane for the Euro Golden Boot, with both men on three goals alongside four players who have been KO’d from the competition.
