Meghan McCain says Biden is like her dad was with brain cancer

Sen. John McCain's youngest daughter isn't a brain surgeon, a neurologist, or even a doctor, but she thinks President Joe Biden is showing symptoms that remind her of her father's cancer.

McCain, a far-right partisan, spoke out on her podcast, claiming that watching her father's brain being eaten away by glioblastoma is the same thing she's seeing with Biden.

"I know what cognitive decline looks like," she told listeners, according to the Daily Beast.

"I think any caregiver for an aging parent knows that—and to me, I felt saddened and uncomfortable and then very scared,” watching Biden during the debate, she said.

Biden has said that he was ill the week before the debate when he was supposed to be doing debate prep. He still did not feel great during the debate and confessed he saw a doctor afterward.

Still, in the 14 days since the debate, top Democrats have pressed for the president to leave the 2024 race and hand the reins over to another candidate who could mount and execute a winning national campaign in four months.

The symptoms of the brain cancer McCain's father had include headaches, vomiting, and seizures, explained the Glioblastoma Research Organization.

Another common symptom is epilepsy. A neurologist said in his report on Biden that he didn't have any symptoms similar to that.

Other symptoms include things like memory loss, confusion, personality changes, difficulty concentrating, hemiparesis, and aphasia. While Biden has a stutter, he can still speak, and one side of his body doesn't appear to have stopped working.

Biden watched his eldest son, Beau, fight and succumb to the same glioblastoma that killed McCain three years later.

The Biden family has long held a relationship with McCain and his family. During an appearance on "The View" when McCain was a co-host, Biden spoke with fondness about the senator, who was in the final stages of the disease at the time. Meghan became emotional, and Biden quickly consoled her with a tight hug and held her hand as she cried.

"Her dad goes after me hammer and tongs," Biden said with a big smile. "We were like two brothers who somehow were raised by different fathers or something because of our points of view. But I know, and I mean this sincerely, her dad got mad at me. He told me I should get the hell off the ticket. And you remember what I said? And I mean this sincerely: I know that if I picked up the phone tonight and called John McCain and said, 'John, I'm at Second and Vine in Oshkosh, and I need your help. Come.' He would, and I would for him, too."

Biden delivered words at the elder McCain's funeral.
