Teen arrested in connection to SW OKC motel murder

A teen is now locked up in connection to a motel murder and officers are still looking for others allegedly involved.

OKLAHOMA CITY (KFOR) — A teen is now locked up in connection to a motel murder and officers are still looking for others allegedly involved.

"Most of the time at night, they're out here fighting, raising hell," said a woman staying at the motel.

The woman told News 4 she's been staying at the Executive Inn for a few months. She asked for her identity to be concealed, because she's concerned for her safety.

"I'm so tired, I don't get any sleep," she said.

She talked to News 4 less than one day after a murder.

Wednesday evening, Oklahoma City Police raced to The Executive Inn near southwest 34th and the I-35 service road. There, officers found Isai Vera, 35, shot outside of a room.

"That victim was transported to an area hospital where they later were pronounced deceased," said Sgt. Dillon Quirk, with the OKCPD.

In the wake of the shooting, police arrested a 16-year-old girl, but investigators said she wasn't alone. Whoever pulled the trigger is still a mystery.

"We don't have a motive just quite yet," said Quirk.

While News 4 was filming, a man walked asked us if we knew what room "it" happened in. After crews told him they were unsure, the man said "that was my brother" then walked away. It was clear he did not want to talk on camera.

The woman staying at the motel said she did not hear gunshots at the time.

"A friend of [my husband] called and and said, 'Somebody got shot where you stay?' He said, 'What are you talking about?' He says, 'It's on the news,'" said the woman.

She wasn't surprised when she learned of the news. She said this is the second shooting that's happened since her stay.

OKCPD said back in late April, a victim was shot but survived. The two parties knew each other, however the victim did not want to cooperate with police.

The woman said she is moving out this weekend because she doesn't feel safe.

"People stand in front of my window banging on the window for cigarettes and water, I even had guys stand there with their pants down that you know, they, they don't have good intentions," she said.

We asked the motel for comment, they declined.
