AUSTIN (KXAN) -- In collaboration with Blinn College, the Texas Department and Public Safety (DPS) will open a temporary driver license (DL) office at the Blinn College Student Center beginning July 15th, according to a release from DPS.

Following the deadly crash from April 12 that occurred at the DPS' Brenham Station, citizens received DL services by visiting nearby DPS office locations, the release said.

“Members of DPS’ Driver License Division and the entire Brenham community have shown great strength and resilience in the aftermath of the DPS Brenham Station tragedy just a few short months ago,” DPS Director Steven McCraw said in the release.

Texans will now be able to receive full, in-person DL services including DPS DL and identification card services by appointment only, according to DPS.

The temporary Brenham DL office location is at Blinn College Student Center, located at 1007 Walter Schwartz Way in Brenham. The hours of operation are Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. DPS said the office is closed for lunch between noon and 1:15 p.m.
