Unwanted Bayern Munich star can be Liverpool’s perfect Mohamed Salah replacement

Liverpool talisman Mohamed Salah faces an uncertain future at Anfield. He is one of the best attackers in the game, but his time at the club is likely coming to an end soon.

Saudi Pro League side (SPL) Al Ittihad wanted the Egyptian forward last summer. They were ready to shell out over £150 million to secure his signature, but the Reds rejected the proposal.

The SPL will likely return with another mammoth offer this summer. Liverpool have reiterated that he is not for sale, but at 32, it’s a last chance to possibly cash in on a player entering the twilight of his career.

Even if the SPL cannot get their hands on Salah right now, they can patiently wait until January, secure a deal, and grab him on a free transfer when his contract expires next summer.

Liverpool must start thinking about a successor for Salah, which is an incredibly daunting prospect considering his output over the years. The former AS Roma maverick has notched 211 goals and 89 assists in 349 appearances – these numbers are hard to replicate.

PSV Eindhoven starlet Johan Bakayoko has been touted as a possible replacement for Salah.

However, while he is a promising talent, Liverpool might need a more proficient and proven right-winger to take the mantle from a Premier League legend.

Step in Bayern Munich star Leroy Sane

Bayern Munich are in the middle of a rebuild and have placed star winger Leroy Sane on the market following the acquisition of Michael Olise.

According to Munich-based tabloid TZ, the Bavarians are open to selling the Germany international, who also has a year left on his contract, if they receive an offer for €70 million.

Liverpool must quickly grab this chance to secure a Premier League-proven forward who can adeptly replace Salah.

The former Manchester City star can score and create goals. Sane possesses the skillset to replicate Salah’s impact on the right side of Liverpool’s attack.

Also, his experience in high-pressure environments like Bayern Munich and Man City would ensure a smooth transition to Anfield.

Salah is better in the goals department. However, Sane is just as creative as the Liverpool man and edges him out in progressive carrying and dribbling.

Salah does his best work inside the box, while Sane is at his best when providing for the man in the box. They are not the exact same profile, but it is hard to find a better replacement for the Liverpool icon in the market.

If Sane is available and for that price, Liverpool sporting director Richard Hughes needs to be all over the deal.

The 28-year-old looks like the perfect successor to the Egyptian king. This is an opportunity Liverpool can’t miss.
