Troy Parrott is set to join AZ Alkmaar

Parrott’s spell at Tottenham is officially set to come to an end, with the striker now thought to be on the verge of sealing a move to AZ Alkmaar.

The 22-year-old is reportedly on his way to the Netherlands to have a medical after being unable to work his way into Ange Postecoglou’s plans.

Gold reveals that Alkmaar were impressed by the youngster’s showing on loan at Excelsior Rotterdam, with the club admiring the fact that the Spurs academy graduate netted 17 goals for a side who were struggling near the bottom of the Eredivisie table.

Parrott’s time at Tottenham is coming to an end

While Parrott allegedly attracted interest from Italy as well as from the Championship, it is the Dutch side who have struck the defining blow by striking a full agreement with Tottenham.

Gold explains that the Republic of Ireland international had hoped to breakthrough at Spurs but the North London club have decided to cash in on him since they have plans to bring another attacker through the door this summer.
