Nintendo Switch fans can grab three games that were never released outside of Japan – and they’re free

NOT only is Nintendo Switch the subscription service that’s the best value for money, but it’s only getting better.

Unlike Xbox Game Pass or PlayStation Plus, which remove games on a monthly basis, games are only ever added to Nintendo Switch Online.

Today (Friday, July 12, 2024), Nintendo has added three games to its Game Boy Advance library for Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack subscribers.

All three games are from The Legendary Starfy series, which was called Densetsu no Starfy in Japan.

This is the first time that the series has been available outside of Japan, where the games were very popular.

The Legendary Starfy series has been most commonly compared to the Kirby series as a cute character platformer.

There are five games in the series, but the first three games that were originally released on the Game Boy Advance are the ones available via Nintendo Switch Online.

The first game launched early in the Game Boy Advance’s lifespan, but the second improved on the original with more stages per world.

Starfy’s third game introduced a new playable character, multiplayer minigames, and had a number of graphical improvements over the original series.

If you want to try out the Starfy series for yourself, you will need to download the Game Boy Advance app from the Nintendo eShop.

This is free to download if you are subscribed to Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack.

Then all you need to do is select the game you want to play from the app and your adventure with Starfy can begin.
