‘Enough is enough’ people scream as fashionista shows how she wears her wide-leg jeans as a TOP

FASHION has taken us to some weird places.

From denim thongs and hoof-like heels to blow-up latex bodysuits and taxidermy animal heads on dresses (we’re looking at you, Kylie Jenner).

But not everyone is loving the outlandish style[/caption]

But just when you think people’s outlandish ways of dressing can’t be topped, a new trend comes along.

This time, it’s wearing jeans as a top.

The trend has taken social media by storm, with women wrapping the legs of their jeans over the shoulders and around their bodies for a makeshift blouse.

Jeans and a nice top has always been fashionable, but jeans as a nice top is totally new territory.

One style blogger was trolled on Instagram earlier this week for rocking the look.

Marina, behind the In Charge of Outfits page, said she was “kind of obsessed” with the look.

Not all of her followers shared the same sentiment.

“Now take it off and wear something normal,” one demanded.

Others begged Marina to “never do this again” and begged her to tell them the style is satire.

“That’s like wearing shoes on your hands,” another armchair fashion critic weighed in.

“Enough is enough,” more penned.

Some attackers even compared the look to something Balenciaga would produce.

After years of flogging dresses that look like bin bags, the French fashion house has cemented it as the wackiest designer on the market.

In 2017, the brand dropped what looked like a blue Ikea bag, asking customers to fork out £1,670 for it when the original store bags cost just 75p.

Are jean tops a step too far?

Fabulous' Fashion Editor has weighed in on why she can't stand wrapping jeans around your body in lieu of a top.

Here’s Clemmie Fieldsend’s thoughts…

JUST when you think you’ve seen it all, someone wraps their jeans around them as a top.

I’m all for being creative and experimental, and I’m all for getting the most out of your clothes, but wearing your bottoms as a top is just plain daft.

I don’t believe any influencer in a high-ceilinged, detailed and stunning apartment can’t be that hard up that she can’t go to Primark and spend a fiver on a top that’s actually a top.

The rest of us manage.

Treat yourself with love, and splash out on a new top.

Then in 2022 it produced a bag selling for £925 that looked like a Tesco carrier.

Fashion fans are comparing the new jeans-as-a-top trend to this level of nuttiness.

Marina isn’t letting the critics get her down, though.

“I know that people on this app love to take everything too seriously but guys this is just the trend I’m testing out,” she responded.

“Let’s have some fun with fashion, even when it doesn’t make a lot of sense.”

Some of her followers loved the “creative” idea and dubbed it “iconic” and “so chic”.
