What We’re Tracking

• Even hotter in the upcoming work week

There are a few showers and storms on the eastern edge of our viewing area that will continue to move out. Southern counties may hold on to a few clouds early this morning before clearing out. Temperatures are starting off in the lower 70s to upper 60s.

We start to heat things up this afternoon with slightly hotter temperatures. Expect highs to top off in the upper 90s for our Friday. Heat indices may very well feel close to triple digits by the early afternoon. Light winds out of the south will only help bring in hotter weather for this weekend.

Our next several days look to be mostly dry as mostly sunny weather dominates the Central Plains. By Sunday we are looking at temperatures in the lower 100s. Heat indices near 110 degrees by the start of next week. Find ways to stay cool as high temperatures will linger into Tuesday. Finally a relief from the heat arriving after a cooler front on Tuesday night. Next rain chances arriving Wednesday.
