Clintonville restaurant catches fire for second time in two years, arson suspected

COLUMBUS, Ohio (WCMH) – For the second time in as many years, nearly to the day, a north Columbus restaurant has suffered major damage due to a fire.

Early Friday morning, fire crews were called to Harvest Bar + Kitchen on North High Street in Clintonville where they found flames shooting out of the back of the building. Most of the damage was contained to the refrigeration unit and dumpsters according to officials at the scene.

No injuries were reported at the pizzeria and while the cause has yet to be determined, arson investigators have been called to the incident. The fire was believed to have started just after 2:30 a.m.

This Harvest location is the same building that caught fire on July 1, 2022. The restaurant suffered extensive damage and was closed for many months after video footage from witnesses showed smoke billowing out of the roof.

It is unknown if Friday morning’s fire will affect business operations.
