I pulled a switcheroo on my roommate who was stealing my beauty products – she changed color & learned her lesson

A ROOMMATE has gotten her revenge after realizing she was living with a thief.

She said that her beauty products went missing one by one before she took action.

A Redditor recounted the issue in a post on the social media platform, recalling how she used to have five roommates.

When a new girl moved in, she noticed some of her skin and haircare dwindling at an unexpected rate.

SNEAKY STEALER

The Redditor found herself replenishing beauty products more often than usual.

“About a month after my friend moved out and another girl moved in, I noticed that I was having to buy shampoo and conditioner more often than usual,” she said.

She insisted it was easy to identify what belonged to which roommate, and no one had asked her about borrowing anything.

But eventually, she noticed that some of her products weren’t properly closed — something she pays close attention to.

“I had a feeling it may have been the new girl who was using my stuff. She used the smaller bathroom, as it was right next door to her room,” she said.

“My shampoo also has a really distinct smell, and I was certain one night as she sat near to me, I could smell it.

“When, once again, my face cream had been dug into, I hatched a plan to try and get the face cream fiend.”

SWEET REVENGE

She replaced her face cream with a self-tanner that was formulated to gradually build color on the skin — and waited for the roommate’s face color to change.

“I made sure to check the jar that I put back in its place in my basket of goodies, and it was definitely being used,” she said.

“I watched as the new girl’s face continued to subtly darken and go orange over the coming weeks until she herself noticed and stopped using my ‘face cream.’

“My shampoo and conditioner also remained untouched after that.”

She still feels satisfaction, all this time later.

“I moved out of the house a while ago, but from time to time I see the girl around and bump into her. It always makes me smile,” she wrote.

STEAL MY SHAMPOO, DYE YOUR HAIR

Other Redditors shared their own stories of roommate nightmares.

One said she and her roommate both used their own purple shampoos for their blonde hair.

“I stopped using mine for a while and I noticed it was getting low really quickly, but he had his own, so why would he use mine?” she recalled.

When she tested his out, she saw that it dyed her skin pink.

“I realized why he was using mine and that he had been using mine the entire time,” she said.

As revenge, she “squirted a bunch of his shampoo into my bottle, and sure enough, his hair had a very notified pink hue to it.”

THE NOSE KNOWS

Another Redditor noticed their roommate had stolen by the scent.

“My roommate once had dried hands and decided to use a bottle of lotion my girlfriend had gotten me,” theyone.

“He thought it was just hand lotion and didn’t know it was scented, girly body lotion.

“Well, I saw he had the bottle when I walked into our room and he explained why he had it and I just started laughing.

“Only then did he realize it was scented, and he used so much that the scent was strong. He smelled like my girlfriend for the rest of the day.”
