New Delhi: Team India captain Rohit Sharma made a stylish entrance at the Wimbledon 2024 semi-final between Carlos Alcaraz and Daniil Medvedev. Dressed in a sharp black suit and chic sunglasses, Rohit turned heads at the blockbuster semifinal. The Grand Slam tournament’s official social media channels warmly welcomed the 37-year-old cricket star, capturing his dashing appearance for fans worldwide.

Under Rohit Sharma’s leadership, Team India ended an 11-year wait for an ICC title last month by defeating South Africa in the T20 World Cup final in Barbados. After being stranded on the island due to a hurricane, the team received a hero’s welcome upon their return to India on July 2.

In recent weeks, several cricketers, including Sachin Tendulkar, Ben Stokes, Pat Cummins, Jos Buttler, and Joe Root, have made their presence felt at Wimbledon. With India currently engaged in a T20I series against Zimbabwe and Rohit already retired from the format after their World Cup win, he seized the opportunity to enjoy some quality time in the United Kingdom.

Wimbledon, sharing a picture of Rohit in his sharp suit, wrote, “Welcome to Wimbledon, Rohit Sharma!”

During the recent T20 World Cup, Rohit Sharma demonstrated his exceptional skills, finishing as the tournament’s second-highest run-scorer with 257 runs, the highest for India. Despite a modest score in the final, Rohit’s leadership was crucial in securing a thrilling seven-run victory over South Africa in Barbados, leading India to their long-awaited ICC title.

Following the World Cup triumph, Rohit Sharma announced his retirement from T20Is during the post-match press conference. However, he will continue to lead the team in ODIs and Tests, with BCCI Secretary Jay Shah confirming that Rohit will captain the side in next year’s Champions Trophy and the ongoing World Test Championship.

Earlier this month, the BCCI also appointed Gautam Gambhir as the new head coach of the India men’s team, succeeding Rahul Dravid. Gambhir will begin his tenure with India’s limited-overs series against Sri Lanka later this month.
