Fans dubbed the swoop “Football Manager-style” and one claimed: “This is gonna be some headache for L2 transfer roundup.”

Morecambe’s feat was also pulled off by a manager in Derek Adams who took charge of the club for the THIRD time only last month.

The dramatic 24 hours began with the verdict of an independent disciplinary commission on Thursday.

The body ruled in favour of the League Two Shrimps in a dispute with the EFL.

Morecambe had been placed under an embargo for three transfer windows and fined £5,131.82 for failing to meet payment obligations.

The club had already been deducted three points in April for breaking an agreement on paying players’ wages

The Shrimps have now won an appeal against the ban on signing players.

The commission suspended the embargo for two years and reduced it to a single transfer window.

That prompted ex-Plymouth and Bradford chief Adams to complete one of football’s most incredible days of mass transfer business.

Jordan Slew and Yann Songo’o are back for third spells, with Congolese defender David Tutonda returning for a second stint.

Morecambe also lured Hull City midfielder Callum Jones for a second time on loan.

Adams brought in his ex-Bradford defender Luke Hendrie too.

And there are five more backline recruits – George Ray, Ross Millen, Max Taylor, Jamie Stott and Adam Lewis.

Former Wolves and Shrewsbury ace Harry Burgoyne is the one goalkeeper to pen a deal.

Tom White and Paul Lewis arrive to boost the midfield.

Hallam Hope and Ben Tollitt have joined the Shrimps as options up front.

One fan perused the purchase list and joked: “If you had plans tonight, please cancel them so you can wade through this lot and let us know your thoughts.”

Another posted: “Imagine you see an announcement and it’s 15 signings at once!”

And a third simply wrote: “Hahahahahaha what!”

Even the Shrimps themselves had some fun with their announcement.

They posted a clip of a message being taken to the dressing room reading “We want to know: Your name, your position, something interesting about you.”

No – it wasn’t a recruitment slogan – but an introduction to some BRIEF interviews with newcomers for their fans.
