Milling, paving set for Maxon Road Ext. in Schenectady

SCHENECTADY, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- Schenectady officials have issued a road work advisory for Maxon Road Extension and surrounding streets on the northside. Milling and paving is set to start the week of July 15 and continue into the week of July 22, weather permitting.

Maxon Road Extension is a primary road for drivers entering and leaving the city, said officials. Schenectady's paving contractor has put together a traffic control plan where traffic can continue in a single lane on Maxon Road.

  • Maxon Rd Extension from Van Vranken Ave to Erie Blvd
  • Intersection of Maxon Road Extension and Stevenson Street/Van Vranken Avenue
  • Intersection of Maxon Road Extension and Hudson Street
  • Intersection of Maxon Road Extension and Van Der Bogart Street
  • Intersection of Maxon Road Extension and Alexander Street
  • Intersection of Maxon Road Extension and Technology Drive
  • Intersection of Maxon Road Extension and Erie Boulevard/Freemans Bridge Road
  • Van Vranken Avenue from Maxon Road Extension to Anthony Street both sides
  • Intersection of Van Vranken Avenue and Hillside Avenue
  • Intersection of Van Vranken Avenue and North End Drive
  • Intersection of Van Vranken Avenue and Anthony Street

Parking on these streets will not be available from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. each day. Officials said Alexander, Hudson, and Van Der Bogart Streets will only be open for local traffic between Van Vranken Avenue and Maxon Road during the work. Drivers are asked to use caution on the detour routes on Seneca Street and Van Vranken Avenue.
