Numerous car thefts in Riley County reported in the past 30 days

MANHATTAN (KSNT) - Multiple car thefts are being reported in Manhattan this week.

Police say nine car thefts were reported in the last 30 days. Many of these thefts could have been avoided.

"Four of them have actually been instances where people have left their keys in their vehicles unlocked, making it a pretty easy target for a suspect," Officer Manning with Riley County Police Department told 27 News.

Police are reminding people to keep valuables out of their cars, keep their vehicles locked, and not leave their keys in their cars.
