Sisters raise $6K for ALS center with lemonade stand

ALBANY, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- A local lemonade stand that is run by two young sisters raised money for a good cause. Quinn and Vivianna Estrom lost their grandmother to ALS last year. Throughout her illness, their grandmother received support from the St. Peter's ALS Regional Center.

The sisters set up their lemonade stand in Loudonville over Memorial Day weekend with a goal of raising $200. On Friday, they presented St. Peter's with a check for $6,000 in memory of their grandma.

"We just got a binder, and we started planning and getting a grocery list for my mom, and my mom called my gramps, and it just came together," the girls said.

"We thank you," St. Peter's Hospital Foundation Exec. Dir. Shannon Galuski said. "Not only for this generous gift but for reminding us how powerful two little girls can be."

The sisters said they plan on doing a similar fundraiser every year to raise money for the center and ALS awareness.
