Long road ahead for Turkiye, Syria as Erdogan shows signs of rapprochement

Speaking at the NATO summit in Washington on Thursday, Turkish President Erdogan had called on his Syrian counterpart Assad for a meeting to discuss restoration of diplomatic ties that have been ruptured for more than a decade after anti-regime protests in Syria spiralled into a civil war
