UP Man Gets Bitten By Snake Every Saturday For 7th Time In 40 Days, Team Formed To Probe Case

A 24-year-old man in Uttar Pradesh's Fatehpur was allegedly bitten by a snake for the seventh time in 40 days. With each incident occurring on weekends, his parents were left with no choice but to seek medical help.

In a bizarre turn of events, 24-year-old Vikas Dubey from Uttar Pradesh’s Fatehpur has been bitten by a snake not once, twice, or thrice, but seven times within just 40 days. The series of snakebites left Dubey in a critical condition, with each bite adding to the mystery and concern surrounding his case. Despite the severity of the situation, Dubey has miraculously managed to stabilize after the seventh bite. Dubey, a resident of Soura village, encountered the first snakebite at his uncle’s home, setting off a chain of inexplicable events. Between June 2 and July 6, he fell victim to six more snakebites, each incident adding to the growing apprehension within his family. The family revealed Dubey’s eerie premonition that he would be bitten nine times, with survival only guaranteed up to the eighth bite. They said that no doctor, priest or ‘tantrik’ (occultist) would be able to save him if he was bitten for the ninth time.

Despite being advised to relocate after the fourth bite, Dubey’s misfortune continued unabated. Seeking refuge at his aunt’s house did not deter the snakes, as he was bitten for the fifth time. With each incident occurring on weekends, Dubey’s parents were left with no choice but to seek medical help.

On July 6, after the seventh bite, Dubey’s condition deteriorated, prompting his parents to rush him to the hospital once more. The medical intervention proved successful, with Dubey eventually recovering from the ordeal. His peculiar encounters with the snakes and the uncanny timing of the attacks have left many questioning the mysterious forces at play in his life.

Reacting to the matter, Chief Medical Officer Rajiv Nayan Giri said that the victim has requested financial help from the authorities. “The victim came to the Collectorate and cried that he had spent a lot of money to cure the snake bite and now he requested financial help from the authorities. I advised him to visit a government-run hospital where he could get anti-snake venom free of cost,” Giri told the news agency ANI on Friday.

He further said that it is very strange that a person is bitten by a snake every Saturday.

“We still need to figure out if it is actually a snake that’s biting him. We also need to see the competence of the doctor who is treating him. A person being bitten by a snake every Saturday and that person being admitted to the same hospital every time, and recovering in just one day seems strange,” he said.

The Chief Medical Officer further said that they had formed a three-doctor team to investigate the matter. “This is why we thought of forming a team to investigate the case, after which I will tell the people the truth of the matter,” he added.

According to officials, every time the snake attacked Vikas Dubey, he was taken to the hospital and recovered after getting treatment.
