The incident took place on Wednesday. The flyer was identified as 25-year-old Neil McCarthy from Oregon. McCarthy was arrested as soon as the flight landed and has been charged with indecent exposure.

The bizarre incident happened aboard American Eagle flight 3921 which was bound to Manchester, New Hampshire from Chicago, Fox Business reported. Due to McCarthy’s indecent behaviour, the flight was diverted to Buffalo, New York.

According to local police, they received a photo clicked by another flyer in row 2 which showcased the accused exposing himself and urinating on the plane.
The police also collected details from the airline personnel and crew members who recognized McCarthy. McCarthy confessed to drinking several “Jack and Cokes” before and during his journey from Portland, Oregon to Chicago. He insisted that a health issue necessitated his frequent trips to the aeroplane washroom.

American Airlines issued a statement, stating that the Embraer 170/175 operated by Envoy Air, was forced to divert “due to a disruptive customer”.
“The aircraft was met by law enforcement upon arrival at BUF and re-departed shortly after. We thank our team members for their professionalism and our customers for their understanding,” the statement said.

Accusations were hurled at McCarthy for reportedly breaking US federal law, specifically Title 49, Section 46506, by behaving lewdly and openly displaying his private parts. If found guilty, he might be looking at a jail time of half a year and could also be slapped with a fine that’s as hefty as $5,000.
