The 24-year-old, who was capped at four different age levels for Scotland started his career at Rangers and enjoyed loan spells at Falkirk and Plymouth Argyle before moving to Partick Thistle in 2020.
A loan period at Dundee was turned into a permanent transfer two years later with Zak also having temporary spells at St Johnstone and Raith Rovers.
Zak is two short of fifty senior goals and Callum Davidson is delighted to bring the player in as he said: “I worked with Zak before at St Johnstone and I know the positives that he will bring us. I am absolutely delighted to get him in as I have been looking to get him for a while now.
“I am over the moon that he is here, and he is one of the three or four that we would like to bring in. The others are of a similar quality and, if we get them all, everyone will see the direction we want to go in.”
Callum added: “Zak likes to be in the box scoring goals, but he also likes to stretch the game as well. He can extend the game for us as he runs the channels. Last season we played a lot of good football however when teams pressed us, we did not have an out or the threat that someone stretching the game brings. We have that now in Zak.
“It is important to have a player like that, as whilst it is great that we always seem to score good goals, I want us to score other types of goals as well.
“Zak is 24 and brings with him some good experience as well as having shown that he can score goals in the Championship. He is a lovely lad and I have told him that he will be one of the leaders in our team. He has the maturity to do that, and I am excited to see him in action.”
Queen’s Park Director of Football Darren O’Donnell said: “The club have worked hard to get Zak here over the last few weeks. He was one of Callum’s main targets and he is viewed as a great signing just as the season is starting.”
