Free yoga, pilates classes continue in Eleftheria Square
If you are looking for a way to get active this summer and keep the body moving despite the heat, the Municipality of Nicosia is offering a series of free fitness classes throughout July. Following a great response for its first round of Yoga and Pilates classes, the municipality has announced the evening classes will continue at the green area next to the Eleftheria Square Amphitheatre this month.
Shifting the classes to a later time to beat the summer heat, the Yoga classes will take place every Monday between 7pm and 8pm. They are free to attend, you only need to register in advance to confirm your spot via the Google Forms found on the Nicosia Municipality website.
“Yoga is a practice that combines movement with breathing, emphasising the unity of body and mind. It improves physical fitness, body strength, and mental and spiritual health. Bring your mat, a towel, a water bottle, wear comfortable clothes, and we await you. Namaste,” say instructors.
Pilates classes will take place every Thursday in July at 7pm, running for one hour at the same location. “Pilates is an exercise method that combines stretching and strengthening,” explain organisers. “It tones the muscles, improves posture, and increases flexibility while also coordinating and balancing body and mind.”
