My perfume hack makes weak fragrances have ‘nuclear performance’ – I got compliments on my scent 3 times in one day
A LITTLE-KNOWN fragrance hack caused one person to receive countless compliments on their scent in one day.
They said the tip makes a weak perfume “nuclear” as it lingers on the body and clothes.
The beauty fan shared their advice on Reddit’s Fragrance Clones forum, which has over 94,000 members.
POWERFUL PERFUME
They said their sister told them about the hack six months ago and they’ve used it ever since.
“She told me any perfume you have that is weak performing, you can make it have a nuclear performance by doing one thing,” they said, writing under the handle Opening_inevitable82.
“She said, if you over-spray a weak perfume all over your clothes and body, it will still disappear quickly.
“She said to make it perform well, spray many sprays of that perfume in ONE area.”
The Redditor said they tried the hack using a knockoff version of Creed Aventus.
The cologne for men costs $189 at Walmart, but their “copy” was just 8€ [$9].
“It smelled close to the original but it would literally become a skin scent in 45 mins and disappear completely in 90 mins, that weak,” they said.
“The next day, I sprayed 10 sprays of this copy on the front of my neck.
“All 10 sprays in that exact spot. I was complimented on my perfume 3 times that day.”
They confessed that the hack has transformed how they apply fragrances.
“My sister says that if a perfume is weak it needs a higher dose at a particular area to project like a strong perfume,” they said.

Many people upvoted the hack and said they’ve noticed similar results when spraying with a similar method.
“Interesting hack,” one person said. “I have observed when I overspray on a single spot, even something like Lacoste L.12.12 Le French lasts longer.”

According to Makeup.com, over-spraying fragrances won’t improve the longevity of the scent.
It’s best to focus on applying to pulse points such as the wrist, neck, and heart as heat from these areas makes the scent “radiate upwards.”
The skin should be moisturized before spraying the perfume so that the molecules can hold on better.
Fragrances also hold onto fabric better than the skin, therefore an extra spray on clothes can help with longevity.
