Las Vegas sizzles at 115 degrees for fifth consecutive day

LAS VEGAS, Nevada: Las Vegas set a dubious record, sizzling for the fifth consecutive day at 115 degrees Fahrenheit (46.1 Celsius) as the heatwave scorching the U.S. could continue into the weekend.

Shortly after 1 p.m., the temperature at Harry Reid International Airport rose to 115, crossing the July 2005 mark of four consecutive days. And the record could even double by the weekend.
