X Factor star unrecognisable after incredible weight loss 13 years after reaching finals and penning Katie Price song
X FACTOR star Craig Colton looks totally different to the shy 22-year-old who performed on the talent show in 2011.
The singer, who was mentored by Take That frontman Gary Barlow., came sixth and competed alongside girl band Little Mix.
Despite losing, the singer went on to pen songs and build a career in the music industry including writing track ‘I Got U’ for Katie Price.
Now 13 years later he looks unrecognisable as he was spotted shopping in London.
The former talent show finalist wore a black shirt, jeans and sunglasses as he walked the streets of South Kensington, and was seen picking up healthy fruit and vegetables from a street stall.
The singer’s weight loss has been something he’s been working on for the past decade, as in 2012 he told Now magazine that he’d dropped almost four stone thanks to a dedication to eating well.
He told the magazine: “I’ve got so much more confidence now.
“I’ve lost almost four stone and I’m doing it slowly.
“I don’t want to lose a stone a week or anything like that.
“I’m still enjoying myself – hashtag cocktails.”
He also added that he’d taken up the gym and was exercising regularly three to four times a week, as he described how his lifestyle had totally changed.
He continued: “I live on omelettes with two yolks and three whites – to get my protein – with ham and cheese or tomato.
“I used to survive on crisps and sandwiches.
“I don’t eat a lot of fat and I’ve cut right down on sugar. Eggs are the way forward.”
The star’s commitment to his healthy lifestyle has paid off, as he appeared slim as he shopped for fruit and vegetables.
The star might not have won The X Factor back in 2011, but it certainly helped him launch his music career and he’s still continuing to write and record tracks.
According to his Instagram his location is ‘hiding in the studio’, as he focuses on his singing and songwriting.
The star might also have another motivation for keeping his figure trim, as he’s recently become engaged to partner and celebrity skin expert Shane Cooper.
Shane works with celebrity clients including Hannah Waddingham, Sienna Miller and Billy Piper.
The couple have been together for many years, with Craig popping the question to partner Shane earlier this year.
According to Shane’s Instagram, Craig proposed after the couple enjoyed massages during a luxury getaway and he made sure that everything was meticulously planned out with his new fiance writing on Instagram that Craig told him the event had been 11 months in the making.
Sharing the happy news, Shane wrote online: “I said YES! After the most incredible couples massage we head back to our villa where Craig proposed.
“After crying I said yes! Honestly this evening has been one of the most magical evenings.
“He said he has been planning this since February last year with @luxurytravelbysoni to create this magical evening.”
Shane added: “The gorgeous villa decorated, the stunning watch, private chef, guitarist and a four course meal. I can’t put into words how much I adore and love him.”
