France star, 28, considering international retirement after playing only 15 minutes at Euro 2024
FRANCE star Kinglsey Coman is considering international retirement after Euo 2024 at the age of 28.
Coman has been part of Les Bleus’ senior squad ever since 2015 thanks to some impressive performances for the likes of Juventus and current club Bayern Munich.
But the winger only managed 15 minutes during the European championship in Germany when he replaced Ousmane Dembele during the goalless draw with the Netherlands in the group stage.
According to L’Equipe, the France international had a “bad experience” during the Euros, which “scarred” him.
The same source claims Coman had put a lot of hard work into returning from a hamstring injury to claim a spot in Didier Deschamps’ squad.
It has also been reported that the decision to maintain Deschamps at the helm for the 2026 World Cup may have affected the forward’s decision.
If the Bayern star decides to hang up his boots then that won’t be the first time France see a player retire from international duty at such a young age.
Raphael Varane also did the same at the age of 29 after the 2022 World Cup final that saw his team losing to Argentina.
Coman has so far amassed a total of eight goals in 57 caps for his national team.
And despite his injury-stricken season, the Frenchman still managed five goals and three assists in 27 appearances across all competitions with Bayern.

France failed to impress during Euro 2024 despite making it to the semi-finals.
Deschamps’ side was eliminated by Spain who beat them 2-1 and are now set to face England in the final on Sunday.
France only managed one goal from open play during the entire tournament when Randal Kolo Muani scored against the Spaniards.
