Vente On ‘Perfect Start’ To The Season

Hibs striker Dylan Vente made the ‘perfect start’ to the 2024/25 campaign - bagging a hat-trick in our first competitive match of the new season.

The Hibees ran out comfortable 5-0 winners over Elgin City in the Premier Sports Cup, kick-starting the new season with an impressive victory.

Vente opened the scoring in the first half on eight minutes with a smart finish from close range before heading in Jordan Obita’s cross for his second.

The Hibs striker completed his hat-trick in the second period with another instinctive striker’s finish inside the six-yard box.

Speaking to Hibs TV after the match, Vente highlighted how happy he was with the afternoon’s work.

"Five nil is a good win for the team and three goals for myself, so it is a perfect start to the season for me.

“Everyone fought for each other out there today, when you lose the ball everyone reacts quickly and that is important in games like this. We reacted well today and it was good to build on a good pre-season. Now, the challenge is to kick on from here."

The Hibees return to action on Tuesday evening when we take on Queen’s Park in the Premier Sports Cup. After finding the back of the net, Vente is eager to get back on the pitch again.

“It is always good to score three goals. For me, it was a very good feeling. But we’ve got another game coming quickly on Tuesday.”

“It has been a while since we’ve played at Easter Road, we’ve had holidays and pre-season in-between so it will be good to be back home and hopefully we can get another win.”
