Alesha MacPhail’s killer Aaron Campbell will be ‘No1 target’ when he moves to adult jail

ALESHA MacPhail’s killer will be a “No1 target” when he moves to an adult jail next month, sources warn.

Aaron Campbell, 22, is said to be on the radar of feared lags looking to avenge the six-year-old following his switch to HMP Glenochil.

He remains among the country’s most despised inmates for kidnapping, raping and killing Alesha on Bute in 2018.

And one source at the prison near Alloa said yesterday: “He is in real danger — he will need to watch his back every second.

“He’ll be lucky if he goes a week without being attacked.

“There’s real hardmen in here.

“Some have done some pretty bad things but even they’re repulsed by him and what he did.

“Campbell will be the No1 target.”

The nick is home to double killer James ‘Porky’ O’Rourke, 53 — dubbed the UK’s most dangerous lag after executing a rival there.

Monster Colin Coats, 59, who kidnapped, murdered and tortured Glasgow estate agent Lynda Spence in 2011, is also holed up in Glenochil.

Campbell, currently in Polmont Young Offenders Institution near Stirling, was 16 when he snatched Alesha from her bed while she was visiting family in Port Bannatyne.

We told how he has been trying to bulk up in the Polmont gym after finding out he would soon be moved to an adult prison.

He was treated in hospital last year after being attacked by fellow criminals.

Campbell’s move to Glenochil had earlier been delayed because a relative of his victim was serving a sentence there.

The Scottish Prison Service doesn’t comment on individual cons.
