Southern California law enforcement agencies monitor developments in Trump rally shooting probe
The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department issued a statement Saturday saying it is keeping watch locally after the Trump rally shooting and is “working with our federal and regional partners to ensure the safety of our communities in L.A. County.”
The statement on X went on to say the agency “will continue to monitor this evolving incident and will be increasing patrol checks as a precaution.”
“Currently, there are no specific or credible threats to L.A. County,” the sheriff’s statement said.
Similar statements were issued by agencies including the Los Angeles Police Department, Long Beach Police Department, San Bernardino’s police chief and the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s department.
“We are aware of the security incident in Pennsylvania and are in constant contact with our law enforcement partners in the region. We will have an increased police presence. As always, please remember to “See Something, Say Something”. Report suspicious activity by calling Police Dispatch at 562.435.6711. Call 9-1-1 for emergencies,” Long Beach police said on social media.
“My thoughts and prayers go out to former President Trump for injuries sustained during a heinous assassination attempt. Regardless of what one’s political views are, attempted murder is not acceptable,” San Bernardino Police Chief Darren Goodman said on social media.
