Muzaffarpur floods: Thousands cut off, schools submerged and homes flooded

Floodwaters have entered hundreds of houses in 18 panchayats in Muzaffarpur district of Bihar, causing significant distress for lakhs of people. The water has also risen on both sides of the Pipapul, disrupting the education of hundreds of children. Over hundreds of houses have been affected in Barri and Basghatta Panchayats. Rapid land erosion is occurring on the old embankment of the West Bagmati River.
