Campbell high school district students charged up about clean energy

Clean energy prospects

Three students from Prospect High School were winners in the EmPower Silicon Valley Short Video Competition.

Students submitted short videos promoting the benefits of clean electric technology to the competition, sponsored by Silicon Valley Clean Energy (SVCE). The Sunnyvale-based green energy aggregator distributed $18,000 in scholarships to the winners.

Prospect High students Jyothiswaroop Makala and Reena Boddukuri were awarded $3,000 scholarships for their editing, creative messaging and execution, and Ramya Makala was recognized with a $2,000 scholarship for creative presentation.

“Our students never fail to impress me with their boundless creativity and dedication to the environment. I am astounded at the impact these youth have already made in their communities,” Saratoga City Council member Tina Walia, who is also SVCE board chair, said in a release. “SVCE, as a community organization, is committed to engaging these youth with opportunities to build a clean energy future.”
