Linnets may be Bay’s toughest test yet

THE Seagulls complete their pre-season programme with a home game against Northern Premier League side Runcorn Linnets on Tuesday (July 16, 8pm).

The Linnets, under new manager Anthony Kay, lost their opening friendly 1-0 at North West Counties side Cheadle Town at the weekend, but will expect to be better prepared for Tuesday’s game, and after finishing second behind champions Leek Town in Division One West of the NPL last season, they arguably present the Bay’s toughest test so far.

Colwyn Bay have won three and drawn one of their last four pre-season games, with ten different scorers, and also kept three clean sheets. The management duo of Mike Wilde and Danny Harrison will be looking for another solid performance from the defence, knowing that not conceding is a vital ingredient for success when the new Cymru North season starts a week on Friday against Bangor 1876.
