Attempted Trump Assassin Thomas Matthew Crooks Donated to Democrat Group

The shooter behind yesterday’s attempted assassination of former President Donald Trump has been pictured for the first time.

Authorities have identified 20-year-old Pennsylvania resident Thomas Matthew Crooks as the shooter. Crooks, who grew up in the affluent suburb of Bethel Park, was “neutralized” by Secret Service agents after blood poured from Trump’s ear.

One attendee was killed, and two others were injured during the incident, the FBI said and the victims have not yet been identified.

“The FBI has identified Thomas Matthew Crooks, 20, of Bethel Park, Pennsylvania, as the subject involved in the assassination attempt of former President Donald Trump on July 13, in Butler, Pennsylvania,” the FBI said in a statement to Fox News Digital. “This remains an active and ongoing investigation.”

Police have parked outside Crooks’ home near Pittsburgh as the investigation into yesterday’s horrific assassination attempt continues.

Here’s more on Crooks including the fact that he donated to a leftist group.

Crooks graduated from Bethel Park High School in 2022. He was one of nearly two dozen students from the school to earn a $500 “star award” from the National Math and Science Initiative.

An online recording of his graduation ceremony shows him walking the stage to minimal applause and briefly posing with a school official, the New York Times reported.

Records show that he made a $15 donation to Progressive Turnout Project, a Chicago-based political action committee that supports Democrat candidates for public office and claims to advocate for “key Democratic constituencies: young people, minorities and low-income people.”

Meanwhile, Trump released a new statement after an assassination attempt on his life at a rally Saturday evening, expressing gratitude to God for preventing an unspecified ‘unthinkable’ event.

In his statement, Trump emphasized the importance of faith and resilience in the face of adversity, urging his supporters to remain defiant against wickedness. The statement has garnered significant attention and support from various social media users and conservative figures.

“It was God alone who prevented the unthinkable from happening,” Trump wrote on his Truth Social platform after he was wounded in his ear on stage by a hail of bullets that killed one attendee at his rally and seriously injured two more.

”We will FEAR NOT, but instead remain resilient in our Faith and Defiant in the face of Wickedness. Our love goes out to the other victims and their families,” he added.

Trump also confirmed he will attend the Republican National Convention in Milwaukee as planned, refusing to change his schedule despite a harrowing act of political violence.

“It is more important than ever that we stand United, and show our True Character as Americans, remaining Strong and Determined, and not allowing Evil to Win. I truly love our Country, and love you all, and look forward to speaking to our Great Nation this week from Wisconsin,” he wrote.
