Katie admitted she was left in the dark place after divorcing her third husband, Kieran Hayler, in 2018.

During this time, she revealed she was relying heavily on alcohol and drugs to cope with her suicidal thoughts.

Katie has bravely opened up to the Mail’s You Magazine about this difficult period that left her questioning her own existence.

The media personality told the publication: “People don’t realise what I’ve been through.

“I just didn’t want to be here any more. I thought, ‘What’s the point? No one’s here, no one’s helping, no one understands what I am feeling.

“I woke up from it thinking, ‘What the f***? I can’t do this to my kids.’ I was at breaking point.”

It was during this period that Katie entered The Priory rehab centre as she continued to battle her own personal demons.

Katie revealed that she had been abusing both alcohol and cocaine as a means of coping before heading to the facility.

However, she refuted claims that she was a “cokehead” and that she only took the drug as “a way to block everything out”.

She continued: “I think there’s this persona of me that I’m a drinker and a cokehead, but I never have been, ever. Yeah, when I was younger, I would go out and get p***ed. Who wouldn’t?

“It [cocaine] is the dirtiest thing. When you’re not in a good place, it taps you on the shoulder and says, ‘I’m here, I can help you.’

“To me, it wasn’t a drug that made me want to party.

“It was more a way to block everything out, to suppress me completely.”

Following her stint in The Priory, Katie received a formal diagnosis for ADHD as well as PTSD amid the trauma’s she has faced.

Just last week, the star told The Sun how she had been forced to slap a trigger warning at the start of her new book amid worries that readers could get PTSD from reading about her woes

In an exclusive interview, Katie told us: “There’s actually a warning at the beginning of the book that you could get PTSD from reading it, because it’s quite a serious book.”

She went on to further add that writing down her traumatic moments on paper had helped her to deal with some of the scary situations she had found herself in.

Katie added: “I’m just glad I’ve got the past behind me.

“This year will be my year and then it’s gone from there.

“You’ll see in the book, I’ve had lots of changes in my life. And I don’t know when you’re positive, everything else just comes with it.

“People now see really what I’ve been through and hopefully they will realise I am a human being, not a product and I do have feelings.”

Katie Price's missing millions

At the peak of her career Katie had an estimated fortune of £45m, thanks to her lucrative modelling career, book deals, and TV appearances.

The cash-strapped mum-of-five was first declared bankrupt in 2019 over unpaid debts of £3.2 million.

In a podcast interview earlier this year she blamed her exes who include Peter AndreAlex Reid and Kieran Hayler and lawyers for her money woes.

She insisted that funding her exes’ lavish lifestyles with cars, watches, luxury holidays and homes left her finances in tatters.

She added: “I went through a breakdown, this is how mine started – lawyers and exes, that is my bankruptcy thing.

“And obviously a bit of HMRC.

“When I had my breakdown, if anyone has been depressed …. I don’t know if you’ve ever had depression…

“It starts with depression and you just want to sleep all day and not talk to anyone, the phone would ring and you wouldn’t answer it.’

Katie was declared bankrupt for a second time in March over an unpaid tax bill of £761,994.05.

The demand for payment was made by HMRC last October.

Katie was due to give evidence about her finances at the High Court but failed to turn up – holidaying in Cyprus with her new man JJ Slater instead.

Her Mucky Mansion was a bomb site for years after it was burgled, flooded and swamped by an overflowing septic tank.

She finally moved out at the end of May and is currently renting a four-bed mansion in Sussex.
