Mayor of Kingstown always knows how to grab your attention from the start. There is always some drama going down, usually as soon as the episode begins.
As we hurdle towards the season finale of a short 10-episode season, with no promise of a season four, anyone is at risk of meeting their demise.
The storyline is set up so that nearly anyone can go. Be sure you’re following TV Fanatic in case we have breaking updates on your favorite shows. For now, here’s our review of Mayor of Kingstown Season 3 Episode 7: Marya Was Here.
Iris is deep undercover with Konstantin, and we don’t expect it to be long before he discovers her loyalty to Mike. She’s already raising suspicions, taking phone calls away from listening ears.
But it’s possible she broke mentally when she heard the news of the twelve dead Russian girls who drowned when their van was pushed off the bridge.

Konstantin couldn’t get her attention off the breaking news. Even with the threat of violence, Iris did not respond. Is she out of it, or is it part of a drug-induced haze?
The criminal overlord seems to have a real soft spot for Iris. But Konstantin’s rapid-fire anger is terrifying, more so since we saw his crazed ramblings as he hallucinated.
How long can Iris stay sane when she’s in so deep? Will she make it to the season finale?
Mike is struggling to manage things inside and outside the prison. The Aryans are growing in power, with several of the guards targeting Bunny on the inside.
Last episode, they attacked Mike’s inside man, prison guard Carny. In this episode, they went after Bunny’s second-in-command, Raf.
We never expected to see Mike turn on Bunny, especially under the order of the Aryans.

But can we really blame him? Bunny has been getting more devious by the episode, fueled by power and the mistaken belief that he’s untouchable.
We’ve seen his cold-heartedness in previous episodes. He nearly took out Mike when his guys shot up Konstantin’s bar while Mike and Iris were inside.
So, how far will he go now that the war has become personal?
Bunny has a lot to retaliate for, from the death of his cousin to his second-in-command getting rustled up in prison. Then Mike had the cops hit the Columbians, which cut Bunny’s drug supply.

Could we see the end of Bunny Washington before the end of the season? He and Mike are no longer on good terms.
In the Mayor of Kingstown Season 3 Episode 6 review, another TV Fanatic mentioned Mike’s tenacity for revenge. He becomes almost bloodthirsty when it comes to enforcing justice for those he thinks are responsible for wrongdoings.
And right now, he’s got fire in his veins for the person who ordered the mass murder of the Russian girls.
He even admitted to Evelyn, a sworn-in government official, that the person responsible wouldn’t see the inside of a courtroom for justice.
Ominous.
Mike’s not the only one who’s out for justice. This season, we’ve been seeing more of the women’s side of the prison. Tracy is stepping up to be the advocate the female inmates lost when Miriam died.

Starting with trying to help a pregnant female inmate raped by a prison guard. Tracy isn’t letting it go, and it’s put her on the radar of a nasty guard. Their confrontation in the parking lot left us shaken, too.
It’s not out of the question that her character could get written off the show. It wouldn’t be the first time writers killed off the mother of an infant.
We have to wonder how Kyle would do as a single dad.
However, I wouldn’t mind seeing Kyle or the whole fam have a little chat with Mr. Aggressive. He doesn’t mind manhandling people who can’t fight back. Let’s see how he feels if he’s the one getting handled.
But after Kyle’s interaction with Evelyn at the bar, we have to wonder if her warning about Robert’s psyche is a hint that something sinister might happen to Kyle instead. At the hands of his psychopathic brother?
He did give us Voight vibes after the raid on the Columbians. Is Evelyn right that Robert likes to kill?
Speaking of psychopaths, the writers of MOK do a fantastic job of making us develop a soft spot for a horrific serial killer.

And we’re not talking about Mike. He’s killed enough people at this point to classify, right?
But seriously, how awkward is it that we feel sympathy for Charlie Pickens despite his impressive body count and violent tendencies?
Former SWAT star Kenny Johnson does a fantastic job of making serial killer Charlie seem childlike and naive, which makes him all the more dangerous.
Is it wrong to hope that the serial killer won’t get caught for more murder? Or if he does, that Ian goes down with him since he took Charlie out of prison to use him?
As usual, the episode portrayed systematic corruption not just in the legal system but also in the system put in place to rehabilitate offenders.
Many of us hoped Kareem would be able to get the prison under control once he became warden. But so far, it seems like things are spiraling further out of control.
If he doesn’t get the Aryans under control, he could end up with another riot on his hands. He already has guards who don’t see him as the source of authority.
They follow Aryan leader Merle. Who is in cahoots with Russian leader Konstantin?
Kareem and Mike are both quickly losing control, and it might not be long before things get too far gone for Mike to save.

If Mike can’t bring peace between all sides, does he even qualify as the Mayor anymore?
