Bride approved my babydoll dress for her wedding – but people say it’s ‘inappropriate’ and she’s ‘biting her tongue’

A SECOND opinion on a wedding guest’s formal attire confirmed her suspicions.

People explained that even though the bride gave the okay on her dress, she may still secretly disapprove.

Redditor TrickEase shared the wedding dress in a post.

“I have a wedding next week, and these are the two dresses I’m stuck between,” she said.

She explained that she had a preference for a white babydoll style that she designed herself but felt unsure about.

“The first one I asked the bride about, and she said she ‘doesn’t see a problem with it, and it’s clearly not a wedding dress,’ but I don’t know any of the guests that well,” she said.

“I guess I’m more worried about their opinion.

The guest added that she was concerned she would attract the ire of fellow attendees.

“I made this dress and just desperately want an excuse to wear it out, but not if someone is gonna ‘spill’ red wine on me (does that actually happen?),” she said.

The second option she felt is much less viable.

“The second dress I bought in a panic as a back-up dress. I’m not overly keen on it me,” she said.

“It was supposed to be tea length, but I’m very short, and it’s turned out maxi on me.

“I’m now also overthinking how pale a pink it is and whether it will show up too light.

“Also, does it look like I split food down myself with the weird yellow lace placement?

“There is no written dress code for the wedding, but it’s a daytime garden wedding.

“It has to be a choice between these two, as I don’t have any more time or funds to hunt another dress down.”

Despite her preference for the white babydoll style, critics urged her to go for the pink option.

“I wouldn’t wear a white babydoll mini dress to a wedding, and I’d be surprised to see a guest wearing that,” wrote one.

“The first dress looks like something a bride would wear to a bridal shower or rehearsal dinner,” agreed another.

“I’d be shocked to see someone wear that to a wedding, and I can’t help but think the bride is biting her tongue.

“The dress is gorgeous, but I really don’t think it’s right for a wedding guest.”

“Nobody is going to spill wine on you, but the first dress is not appropriate for a wedding,” said a third.

“I thought it was a bride asking about an elopement dress at first.”
