Two Paphos arrests for impersonation

Police have arrested two people in Paphos in relation to cases of impersonation.

Paphos police’s Michalis Nicolaou said that around 2pm on Saturday a woman presented a French passport at Paphos airport to travel to France.

Police found that the passport photo was not that of the woman.

When questioned, the woman admitted that the passport did not belong to her and that she was a 26-year-old asylum applicant.

She was then arrested for impersonation and placed in custody until Sunday, when she was taken to court.

The woman filed an application for legal aid and the procedure was postponed.

On Sunday at around 11pm a policeman checked a pedestrian in Kato Paphos.

The man presented identification that did not belong to him and was arrested for impersonation.
