FORECAST DISCUSSION:

Happy Monday!

The heat and humidity stick around for a few days, with highs returning to the low to middle 90s this afternoon, with "feels-like" temps approaching the triple digits. Storms will be much less widespread than yesterday, but we'll still see isolated chances at times, as a result of the high heat and humidity.

More storms arrive overnight and early Tuesday morning. We will see greater storm coverage Tuesday, with thunderstorms continuing on-and-off throughout the day. It will still be very hot and humid. The Storm Prediction Center has parts of our area under a 2-out-of-5 risk for strong to severe storms, mainly Tuesday afternoon. Primary threats will be gusty winds, and localized heavy rain.

A cold front finally starts to work through into Wednesday, but we will still be looking at storm chances at least the first half of the day. Temperatures and humidity do begin to fall, however, with highs dropping to the lower 80s.

The end of the week will be much less humid, and much more comfortable. We'll see more sunshine Thursday and Friday, with highs in the lower 80s.
